Life is so busy, we often find ourselves living on auto-pilot, day after day. We are living our lives but we are not experiencing the life we were meant to experience. Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of focusing on the present moment without judgment. It cultivates love and compassion for others as we slow down and become aware of our thoughts and feelings. It   helps   calm   and   balance   our   body   and   mind.   People   from   various   cultures   have   been   meditating   for thousands of years, reaping the numerous benefits it provides, including: Reduces stress and anxiety Improves mood and helps regulate emotions Enhance self-awareness Increases concentration Lowers Blood pressure Reduces heart rate Improves sleep quality Reduces pain perception 11 Week Curative Hands Mindfulness Course This    course    consists    of    ten    two-hour    sessions    held    on    consecutive    Sundays    at    my    studio    in Schaumburg,   along   with   one   six-hour   day   at   a   location   of   your   choice   (not   at   Curative   Hands).   Each session    begins    with    a    gentle    15-minute    Qigong    practice    to    awaken    our    bodies,    get    our    energy flowing,   and   prepare   us   for   the   day   ahead.   Students   will   receive   a   tote   bag,   coloring   book,   colored pencils,   and   a   pencil   sharpener.   This   will   help   them   focus   and   encourage   mindfulness.   Each   session will conclude with a simple, yet healthy snack. Each   week,   students   will   receive   new   homework   packets   containing   seven   mindfulness   exercises,   one for   each   day.   This   homework   helps   to   build   a   daily   mindfulness   meditation   routine   and   is   expected   to be   completed   before   the   next   session.   Homework   includes   reading,   journaling,   and   daily   meditation practices.   Mindfulness   meditation   involves   seated,   lying   down,   standing,   or   walking   meditations. The   more   you   practice   mindfulness   meditation,   the   easier   it   becomes,   and   the   more   quickly   it   will integrate into your lifestyle. Session 1 - Introduction to Mindfulness Session 2 - Mindfulness of the Body Session 3 - Mindfulness of Emotions Session 4 - Being with whats difficult Session 5 - Loving Kindness and Compassion Session 6 - Mindfulness for Communications and Leadership Session 7 - Resilience Session 8 - Mindfulness for Anxiety Session 9 - Mindfulness for Work and Career Session 10 - Moving Forward Mindfully Session 11 - Day of Silence (random Sunday) Ten   of   these   sessions   (20   hours)   will   be   held   at   my   studio   in   Schaumburg,   and   one   will   be   a   personal session   where   students   will   be   asked   to   spend   a   day   (4-6   hours)   in   silence   (no   music,   radio,   reading or talking with others. Because of life and holidays, the Day of Silence has no set schedule.  Class size is limited to only six students.
