Mindfulness Mediation courses are for everyone. Through studies, life experiences, and being a cancer survivor myself, my passion is to help everyone, especially those who have been touched by Trauma and/or Cancer. 2 Day, 3-hour Meditation Course Meditation   isn’t   about   sitting   still   in   an   uncomfortable   position   and   humming   with   your   legs   crossed   for   hours.   It   is   about clearing,   and   calming   the   chaotic   state   that   our   minds   are   usually   in.   Mindfulness   Meditation   is   about   focusing   on   the   now, without   the   thoughts   (worries)   of   changing   it   (breath,   sounds,   taste,   touch,   thoughts,   and   body   sensations).   This   is   a   private,   3- hour   course   divided   into   2,   90-minute   sessions.   This   is   an   excellent   course   for   those   looking   to   learn   the   basics   of   Mindfulness Meditation    and    become    familiar    with    the    practice    of    meditation.    This    course    teaches    the    fundamentals    of    the    five    basic meditation    postures,    including    sitting,    standing,    walking,    lying    down,    and    eating.    This    schedule    is    based    on    the    students availability. Instruction for this course is private, in person, and one-on-one, two-on-one. ‘Private’ 2 Day 3-hour course: $100 per student Curative Hands offers two Mindfulness Meditation Courses 11-week, and a Private 5-week Mindfulness   Meditation   is   the   practice   of   focusing   on   the   present   moment   without   judgment.   It   cultivates   love   and   compassion for   others   as   we   slow   down   and   become   aware   of   our   thoughts   and   feelings.   It   helps   calm   and   balance   our   body   and   mind. People from various cultures have been meditating for thousands of years, reaping the numerous benefits it provides, including: Reduces stress and anxiety Improves mood and helps regulate emotions Enhances self-awareness Increases concentration Lowers Blood pressure Reduces heart rate Improves sleep quality Reduces pain perception 11 Week, 20 Hour Mindfulness Course This    11-week    course    focuses    on    personal,    family,    and    professional    growth.    It    consists    of    ten    two-hour    sessions    held    on consecutive   Saturdays   at   my   studio   in   Arlington   Heights,   along   with   one   Silent   six-hour   day   at   a   location   of   your   choice   (not   at Curative   Hands).   Each   session   with   us   begins   with   a   gentle   15-minute   Qigong   practice   to   awaken   our   bodies,   get   our   energy flowing, and prepares us for the day ahead. Sessions conclude with a simple, yet healthy snack. Each    week,    students    will    receive    new    homework    packets    containing    seven    mindfulness    exercises,    one    for    each    day.    This homework   helps   to   build   a   daily   mindfulness   meditation   routine   and   is   expected   to   be   completed   before   the   next   session. Homework   includes   reading,   journaling,   and   daily   meditation   practices.   Mindfulness   meditation   involves   seated,   lying   down, standing,   walking,   and   eating   meditations.   The   more   you   practice   mindfulness   meditation,   the   easier   it   becomes,   and   the   more quickly it will integrate into your lifestyle. Weekly sessions include: Session 1 - Introduction to Mindfulness Session 2 - Mindfulness of the Body Session 3 - Mindfulness of Emotions Session 4 - Being with whats difficult Session 5 - Loving Kindness and Compassion Session 6 - Mindfulness for Communications and Leadership Session 7 - Resilience Session 8 - Mindfulness for Anxiety Session 9 - Mindfulness for Work and Career Session 10 - Moving Forward Mindfully Session 11 - Day of Silence (random Saturday) Ten   of   these   sessions   (20   hours)   will   be   held   at   my   studio   in Arlington   Heights,   and   one   will   be   a   personal   session   where   students will   be   asked   to   spend   a   day   (4-6   hours)   in   silence   (no   music,   radio,   reading   or   talking   with   others.   Because   of   life   and   holidays, the Day of Silence has no set schedule.  Class size is limited to eight students. Next Class Starts Saturday, January 10th, 8am-10am, for 11 consecutive Saturdays. only $333 per student or $555 for two students, so bring a friend and grow together. 5 Week, 10-hour Mindfulness Course ‘Private’ This   is   a   Private   5   week,   10   hour   course   includes   the   first   5   sessions   of   our   11   week   course   above.   This   is   one-on-one,   or   two-on- one   course   that   focuses   on   the   students   personal   growth.   Each   session   begins   with   a   gentle   15-minute   Qigong   practice   to   awaken our   bodies,   get   our   energy   flowing,   and   prepares   us   for   the   day   ahead.      Each   session   will   conclude   with   a   simple,   yet   healthy snack.
