Mindfulness Meditation Courses

Meditation is not simply about sitting still in an uncomfortable position and humming, or chanting for hours. It is about clearing and calming the chaotic state of our minds, which are often filled with distractions. Mindfulness meditation focuses on being present in the moment, without allowing worries about changing it to take over your thoughts. This includes paying attention to your breath, sounds, tastes, touch, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of focusing on the present moment without judgment. It cultivates love and compassion for others as we slow down and become aware of our thoughts and feelings. People from various cultures have been meditating for thousands of years, reaping the numerous benefits it provides, including: •Reduces stress and anxiety •Improves mood and helps regulate emotions •Enhances self-awareness •Increases concentration •Lowers Blood pressure •Reduces heart rate •Improves sleep quality •Reduces pain perception 2 Day, 4-hour Meditation Introduction Course. This is a private, 4-hour course divided into two, 2-hour sessions. This course is ideal for those interested in learning the basics of mindfulness meditation and becoming familiar with the practice. Participants will learn the fundamentals of five basic meditation postures: sitting, standing, walking, lying down, and even eating. The schedule will be tailored to accommodate the availability of the student. Instruction for this course is private, in person, and one-on-one, or two-on-one. $200 per student, $300 for two. Bring a friend and grow together 6 Week, 12-hour Mindfulness Course. Part 1 This is a private 6-week, in-person course totaling 12 hours. It can be conducted one-on-one or in pairs, and it focuses on personal growth. Each session begins with a gentle 15-minute Qigong practice to awaken our bodies, promote energy flow, and prepare us for the day ahead. Each session concludes with a simple yet healthy snack. This course is held on consecutive saturdays, in-person at my studio in Arlington Heights. However, if Saturdays don’t work into your schedule, other days and times may be available. Sessions are approximately 120 minutes long and include classroom instruction featuring PowerPoint presentations, discussions, journaling, and mindfulness meditaion practice. Each week, students will receive new homework packets containing seven mindfulness exercises—one for each day. This homework aims to help build a daily mindfulness meditation routine and is expected to be completed before the next session. Assignments may include reading, journaling, and a variety of daily meditation practices, which can involve seated, lying down, standing, or walking meditations. The more you practice mindfulness meditation, the easier it becomes, allowing it to integrate more seamlessly into your lifestyle. Session 1 - Introduction to Mindfulness Session 2 - Mindfulness of the Body Session 3 - Mindfulness of Emotions Session 4 - Being with whats difficult Session 5 - Loving Kindness and Compassion Session 6 - Moving Forward Mindfully Instruction for this course is private, in person, and one-on-one, or two-on-one. $500 per student / $750 for two students. Bring a friend and grow together 4 Week, 8-hour Mindfulness Course. Part 2 This is a private 4-week course totaling 8 hours, and continues where the 6 week course left off, and focuses on professional growth. It can be conducted one-on-one or in pairs.
